Multi-format process
The multi-format process developed by GDL Factory is simple and cost-effective. It is based on the ’single-source ‘ principle, in which case the geometries of the same product do not have to be created separately for each format, as the geometries come from the same source. Process avoids repeating from doing the same work multiple times as it adds cumulative value to the whole at each stage.
Supported formats and platforms
In principle, the customer decides what formats he wants to provide for the designers and we take this into account when creating libraries. The greatest demand and user base is in the combination of the following softwares:
- ArchiCAD (GDL)
- Autodesk Revit (RFA)
- Google SketchUp (SKP)
- Autodesk AutoCAD (DWG)
Of the formats listed, especially SKP and DWG are widely compatible with other software, thus covering almost 100% of the target group. Our recommendation to companies is to provide product libraries for at least these software.
Ordering and implementation of libraries
The starting point of the project is to identify the customer’s needs and in what form and extent the customer’s source material is available. Second stage is to go through the source materials and estimate the costs by every step and make an offer for the total package of ordered formats using the ’turnkey’ principle. All projects always start from scratch, so please contact us and tell us how we can help.
